The mountains of Mulanje are lush tropical forests with hundreds of different flaura and fauna and powerful waterfalls rushing down the cliffs. Likhubula is one of the largest streams and you have the opportunity to view its stunning landscape. The pool at Dziwe La Nkhalamba - the dam of the old men - is gorgeous, underneath the 12-15 meter Likhubula Falls. As the story goes, the "old men" are actually the Ancestral Spirits, with some people declaring they have seen old bearded men rising from the pool. Tthrow in a coin and the Spirits then are appeased, turn the water from black or green, to blue, and then it is safe to swim in the 60 meter deep pool.
