Villages

Malawi is primary a rural culture with most people living in rural areas. Malawi has three Regions and 27 districts. Each district has its own capital but most are small of size (5000-6000 inhabitants). So most people live in small(er) villages with very small brick houses and corrugated sheet roofs. Some villages still have clay/loam walls and reed roofing. Most villages have their own market and manual water pumps or wells. If you would go into one of these villages one has to be able to speak Chichewa and realise that one will attract a crowd.

Some great companies can take you there for a visit  such as Mulanje Adventures.
