UMP Festival
The 2026 UMP calendar centers around the theme "OUR SOUND. OUR PEOPLE. OUR STORY".

Rather than a completely standalone week, UMP Festival has teamed up with the Cape Maclear International Film Festival.
• The Vibe: A massive celebration of African arts, fashion, film, and live music set against the famous sandy shores of Lake Malawi. Visitors can move between lakeside lodges, beach stages, and outdoor film screenings.
• Venue: Hosted primarily at Fat Monkeys in Cape Maclear, Mangochi.
• Lineup Highlight: Malawian Afropop star Driemo is officially confirmed as one of the major live headliners.
2. The Grand Finale: 2026 UMP Awards (December 5, 2026)
The biggest urban music night in Malawi—the UMP Awards 2026—will take place later in the year as a standalone, red-carpet event.
• Date & Venue: Saturday, December 5, 2026, held in the commercial capital of Blantyre, Malawi.
• What it is: The highest-profile award ceremony in the country, honoring the finest Malawian and African music talent, producers, media excellence, and fashion icons across dozens of competitive categories.
