Our Chef & Kitchen
Good food is an important part of the Bua River Lodge experience. Our talented chef takes pride in creating delicious, freshly prepared meals inspired by both local flavours and international favourites. We source as much of our produce locally as possible and are continually developing our own kitchen garden.
Whether you enjoy meat, fish or vegetarian dishes, our chef is happy to tailor meals to your preferences. We can also accommodate dietary requirements, including vegan and gluten-free diets. Simply let us know your requirements in advance so we can make sure you are well looked after.
With fresh ingredients, flexibility and a genuine passion for good food, we want every meal at Bua River Lodge to be something you remember.
Our Luxury Tents
At Bua River Lodge, we believe luxury and nature can exist side by side. Each of our luxury tents has been individually designed by the owners to create a comfortable, welcoming home in the wilderness. Built with great care and minimal impact on the surrounding forest, the tents blend naturally into their environment.
Every tent offers:
- A spacious private veranda overlooking the natural surroundings
- An open-air en-suite bathroom
- Comfortable accommodation with the amenities you need for a short or extended stay
- A peaceful setting surrounded by the sounds of the African bush
Our tents are nestled amongst the trees and positioned far enough apart to provide privacy and a genuine sense of being immersed in nature.
Beautiful local hardwoods and other natural materials have been used throughout the structures, creating an authentic yet comfortable safari experience.
Our Commitment to Sustainability
Living in such a beautiful and sensitive environment comes with a responsibility to protect it.
Sustainability is one of our core values, and we are continually looking for ways to reduce our environmental impact. We use filtered rainwater as well as water from our own well, while our electricity is supplied by a robust solar power system. Wherever possible, we reduce, reuse, recycle and repurpose. We are also developing our kitchen garden and increasing the amount of locally sourced produce used in our restaurant.
For us, responsible tourism is not simply a concept, it is part of everyday life at Bua River Lodge.
Rates
Our accommodation rates include all applicable taxes and a shared sundowner walk. Park fees are not included and are payable separately. For current rates, availability and booking information, please get in touch with us directly.
